Fit Tips

Physical fitness is a condition or a state of being that helps you look, feel and do your best. It is the ability to do tasks full of energy, and still will be able to do other lungs with your time, such as schoolwork and activities with family and friends. It is a basis for good health and well-being. Fitness involves performance of the heart and lungs, and the muscles and body. Fitness can also influence how alert you are and how you feel emotionally… that’s right!

Exercise is an important part of a lifetime of good health! Exercising is also fun and is something you can do with friends. Regular exercise provides both mental and physical health benefits. Mostly exercise keeps you in shape… cool for self-esteem! Sometimes
you like what you see but don’t know how to go about it, when it comes to physical appearances… everyone has a different opinion on what works best,
but these tips will help you.

Leave your house

Most times, people complain that they find it difficult to leave the comfort of their bed for a morning jug and also find it not fun to work out on their own. That’s alright. It’s obvious that a lot of people don’t get to do what they want in live just because they can’t leave the comfort of their living room…
that’s laziness! Physical health aside, you increase
your happiness level when you do what you want, especially exercise. Try leaving your house, you might get inspired or motivated.

Don’t be afraid to join a gym or an exercise class
Joining a gym is fun get to meet friends in the gym too. Find one in your time and monetary budgets, I mean that which you can afford. Physically going the gym creates a mental space for exercise in your mind. Having a designated place to go, especially one have to pay money to access. You can get Magazines and DVD’S to help you with workouts you can do at home, but it’s difficult for a lot of people because home can hamper motivation. Plus, seeing an instructor in person will get you involved and committed and you, sure will get to learn from personal experiences.

Have a balanced workout.
In your routine, include; cardio, weight training and flexibility. Do not skip any of them. If you do one of these more than you do the other, your body will not reach its peak performance for whatever level of exercise you’re doing. Weight training seems intimidating to most people. Women shouldn’t be afraid of bulking up, because they don’t have enough testosterone for this to happen except they go artificial. Being a woman doesn’t exclude you from having a weight training, most likely, light weight. Five pounds weight is enough weight to tone you without destroying you, and you will see results even if you are only lifting them for 10 minutes before you take your shower each morning. Weight training even proved to be most rewarding of the three, because you get results faster.

The best exercise to do is one you like. You may already be doing it.
There are so many ways to go about doing a particular exercise that achieve the same result be it cardio, weight lifting and flexibility. A particular way of doing a specific type of exercise can be referred to as program or as an activity. There are programs you will enjoy and that probably, maybe part of your life. An effective and productive routine can be as simple as stretching in the morning (flexibility) after you get up, taking a substantial walk like jugging (cardio), and maybe a productive “body shake”.
Eventually, you may want to build on these two principles with new challenges to keep your body improving. Do the research and be wise. Keep in mind that every trainer and dietitian is going to have a different ideas of how someone should maintain her body and health. If you want to get better, focus on your weak point.

Need to look smart? … Lose weight!
After doing the same cardio or strength routine three to six times, your body adapts and you burn fewer calories, eventually your results; weight loss, muscle definition will slow down. Also, repeatedly placing stress on the same muscles and joints could lead to an overuse injury.
Once a month, change one thing about your cardio and weight training regimes in line with your weekend walk (if you do any). Mixing things up may help you stick with exercise because of variety. Variety is fun! While biking, running and walking are great for your heart, research suggests that “it is difficult to lose fat when you do only cardiovascular activities. Although aerobic exercise will burn calories, it doesn’t really change your metabolism. What does? Lean muscle mass”. “Muscle helps you burn more calories even after your workout is over”, says Halevy. The more lean muscle mass you have, the higher your resting metabolic rate (the baseline amount of calories you burn in a day). Keep doing cardio three times a week, but add two or three strength – training workouts.
Not there yet! Change Up Your Workout Routine!
You’ve been sticking to your workout routine for two to three months and watching what you eat, yet the scale seems to be stuck. The problem could be that you’re doing the same exercise routine over and over, and your muscles have memory cells. Your muscles become more efficient at whatever it is you’re doing consistently. Gary explains, “It’s no longer a struggle, so you plateau.  To increase your calorie burn and get the full exercise benefits, kick your workout routine up the notch. If your walk, try jogging. If you bike, head for the hills. Or try some new aerobic exercise – swimming etc.
If you don’t feel like crap after workout, you didn’t workout at all
Workouts are workouts. Workouts exist to prepare you to stay fit and to be good in competition. Sadly, too many trainees, especially those in the early stages of the beginners phase (not just cross-fit, but everything), think that killing yourself is a goal. They treat every workout like a major national competition where there reputation and thousands of naira is at stake. I’m too tired to exercise, isn’t a good excuse for not exercising. In fact, if you get up a little earlier to complete a 30-minutes workout routine before heading off to work, you will have more energy the rest of the day. Here’s why; exercise releases endorphins, which are feel good hormones, into your blood stream. Endorphins can help you feel more energized the rest of the day.
